As locals, we know the ins and outs of each of our destinations, and can answer any questions you have regarding what you will get to see during your tour, or what your visit will be like.

When founders Miles and Trisha Power began to pursue their love of travel in earnest, they realized that a good, local guide can make all the difference in how they experienced a new country or city, but finding the right local guide wasn’t always easy. After each great trip, Miles would come home and say, “I wish we could share that with more people.” He finally decided to found Authentic Treks to link his favorite guides and tour companies around the world—and aimed keeping the profits within the local communities. Authentic Treks became his passion project and a way to give back to the people and places that he and Trisha have fallen in love with as they’ve traveled the globe.

Elias is the fearless leader of our Peru tours. A native of Peru, he has been trekking the Inca Trail and surrounding areas since he was a young boy and he loves sharing the history and beauty of Peru with guests. You will feel like family when you tour with Elias.

Founder

Miles Power is an avid traveler whose passion is experiencing new cultures and visiting new places around the world. After so many wonderful experiences, his aim with Authentic Treks is to connect all the wonderful guides around the world with other passionate travelers like himself.

Founder

Miljan is a specialist for the Balkans. He lives in Belgrade, Serbia from where he travels around the Balkans continuously. His favorite way of travel is road trip, so he knows every corner of the region. From the must see attractions, to lesser known places which only locals know.
If you plan to visit Ex Yugoslavia he will be the one to design your itinerary.

Although “trek” is in our name, our tours span a variety of difficulty levels, from a simple walking city tour to a multi-day trek with backpacking and tent accommodations. For example, you can hike your way to Machu Picchu, or simply take the bus. But know that whatever way you travel, you will have a local guide by your side ensuring that your experience is safe and enjoyable and that you experience the culture of your destination in the most authentic way we can provide.
